I will share three methods on how to choose a skill for your career advancement. These methods will help you to remove your confusion and will make it easier for you to choose the best skill for your career.

You can choose the best subject for you by following these three techniques. It will give you clear thoughts about choosing the right and best subject to:

- Monetize
You want to learn a skill, but which skill would be good for you to take to learn?
Let’s solve this problem in a formula-based method.
- Take a blank page.
- Then take a pencil.
- Draw 3 circles.
- Draw and write these 3 things.
After drawing like this, see in the middle of the circles, the white area. There is an overlapping factor in this area. This is your core target that skill should you learn.
How?
The first one is your passion.
Passion: Passion is something that you love doing. It’s the sensation of enthusiasm and profound curiosity that propels your motivation to acquire knowledge and develop in a specific field.
Best at It means something that you can be best at. You know that if you learn this particular skill, you will do best in this field.
Money: It should be a particular subject/skill that will pay you money. You have passion for many things but you have to choose that one skill which will pay you enough money and you will be satisfied with this.
After considering these major 3 factors you can now choose the perfect skill that you want to learn. You should learn a skill or take a particular subject by considering these 3 facts because it will be good for your future.
Many people take a subject which they aren’t passionate about. They cannot benefit in the long run.
Examples:
I know a professor who was a teacher of biology at a reputed university. He didn’t like this biology subject. He was passionate about teaching English. So then he left the job of a biology professor and started teaching English. Now he is a very popular teacher and he is teaching thousands of students and making a lot of money.
For me, I am interested in Marketing, that’s how the business of the world works. So I took Marketing as my subject. And I believe that if I can learn and practice it, I can be the best at it. And it has to give me money. A lot of money.
So my core target is marketing and knowing about business, being an entrepreneur.
So if someone wants to master a skill he should be sure that these 3 factors are in these skills.
If these skills have these 3 factors then you got it right. That’s the skill you need to learn.
So, there comes a question. How do I learn these skills?
You have to follow these 3 steps to find your passion.
Identifying Learning Resources:
You have to understand all your learning resources. It can be books, it can be courses, it can your institution, it can be online sites etc. List them down. Give a right sign that Which resources are easy for you.
My easy learning resources are:

Google
Seek Guidance: go to a person or a mentor who is an expert and experienced in that skill, tell him that these are your learning resources. Ask him, how do I start? Is my learning system right? How can I be an expert in this? Can you guide me?
And it will be great if he helps you to learn.
Application:
Practically apply what you have learned. Many people just sit down idly after learning something. The major problem to master in any skill is not practising it. If you don’t keep practising what you’ve learnt, your time and money will be in vain.
You can be the best at any skill by practising it. Remember? Three factors to choose your career? To be the best at a skill. For that, you have to practise. There is no alternative to practising. Practice makes a man perfect.
Regular practising will take your art from level 0 to level 1, level 1 to level 2 and it will increase by the time.
Find money sources:
Figure out the monetization of your skill. From which source can you make money, and how much can you make in a year? Your major aim is to make money, a lot of money. There are some steps to find it:
- Go to those who are earning from this field
- Ask for help, see their journey, how they get here, and take suggestions from them. If necessary work with them it will help you gain experience.
- Then start. Start from small and build a portfolio
